SVG in for a record-breaking 2023/2024 cruise season – Minister James

This country is expected to have another record-breaking tourism season in terms of cruise ship calls.

Tourism Minister – Mr. Carlos James said there are 377 port calls for the 2023/2024 cruise season, an increase of 17.5 percent over the 2022/2023 season. There were 311 calls in the 2022/2023 season.

The tourism season runs from November to April each year.

Speaking at a press conference today (October 6), Mr. James said this year’s season is also a 37.9 percent increase over the 2019 season which was also a record-breaking pre-COVID-19 pandemic period.

Mr. James said it is due to the work of the various stakeholders in the tourism industry including the Ministry of Tourism and the travel agencies.
