Body found on Jan 1st 2024 could mark 55th homicide of 2023 or 1st for 2024

The lifeless body of a man was found with gunshot wounds on January 1, 2024 in the Old Montrose area.

The body has been identified as that of Mr. Kenroy Peters.

According to reports, gunshots were heard in the Old Montrose area at around 11:20 p.m. on December 31, 2023, but the man’s lifeless body was recovered in the area sometime after 1:00 a.m., on January 1st, 2024.

Following up on our report early this morning, it is still not clear whether this homicide reported in 2024 will be added to the record-breaking 54 recorded for 2023 or whether investigations will confirm it as the first one for 2024.

Police are investigating.
