SVG’s first baby of 2024 gets gifts from Huggies

The first baby born in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) Cassiah Walters has received gifts from Huggies.

Walters, a baby girl, was born on January 2, 2024, at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.

In a press release, Coreas Distribution said it “is delighted to once again partner with the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital to present the Huggies First Baby of the Year token to the parents of the first baby for the year 2024.”

“Baby Cassiah Walters was born on January 2, 2024, at 8:57a.m. to Cassandra Gerald and Gerald Walters; her birth weight was 7½lbs. Huggies was thrilled to gift the very first citizen of St. Vincent & the Grenadines for 2024 a package consisting of Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers stages 1–3, Huggies baby wipes and Kotex feminine hygiene products,” the release stated.

Coreas Distributions said other babies born in January were also taken care of.

“To ensure that all babies born in the month of January are well taken care of, Coreas Distribution has also donated ten (10) cases of size 1 Huggies Snug & Dry diapers and ten (10) cases of Huggies baby wipes to the Maternity Ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital. The overall donation has a value of over $4,000,” the release stated.

“These donations were presented to the hospital by Mr.Akeil Matthews, Brand Manager for Huggies and Mr. Bruce Baptiste Sales Representative. Sister Donette Chance-Williamsthanked Coreas Distribution and Huggies for their generous donation on behalf of the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital,” the release stated.

“Huggies and Coreas Distribution welcome opportunities like these to support the development of all Vincentians and we look forward to continuing our support of local communities,” the release stated.
