During her teen years, Nylene John sang in church but never took her singing career further. Years later, now married with a family, Mrs. John-Exumé has determined that it’s never too late to take talent to the next level and has released her first gospel single.

 Here is the press release:

” It’s a God-sent so it’s got to be Beautiful”!

‘From God’s lips to her ears’ is the phrase that best captures the birth of ‘Beautifully Broken’.

Nylene John-Exumé (singer-songwriter) is excited to announce the release of her first single.

Her inspirational gospel single has an exciting and motivational mood that draws you in, engages with you, then gives thereassurance of spiritual deliverance. It presents a clear message, that our brokenness has the potential to morph into something beautiful. The chorus is partly done in Spanish with the objective of transcending language barriers and bridging cultures.

During her teenage years John-Exumé would memorize song lyrics and do special items at her local SDA church. Later, during her studies in Cuba, she developed an ability to communicate through songs in Spanish. To this end she often collaborated with her Cuban colleagues in the yearly Faculty Cultural Festivals. Upon returning home she signed up for and participated in a national music festival sometime between 2006-2007.Additionally, when an opportunity to join a local church choir presented itself, she did not hesitate; and the experience gained was priceless.

She believes that the first iota of a gospel song idea, is not just about talent, but that songwriting is driven by all of life’sexperiences. That it involves a God who chooses, in His time, to make everything beautiful.

With a unique gift for writing, it was a matter of time before she would write her first song. Then, in March of 2020, pen was put to paper as the blessing unfolded during a devotional routine.Stylistically, she has drawn inspiration from many people including Olita Adams, Amy Grant, and Yolanda Adams. Being bilingual has afforded her the opportunity to translate the chorusin Spanish, thus transcending language barriers and bridging cultures. She has since written other singles which will be released in due course.

Mr. Bryan Ortiz (Bryan Sax) and the Shekinah Sounds Recording Studio are to be commended for a quality service, and the requisite guidance during production; including Ms.Oneilia George who provided heavenly harmony.

John-Exumé holds the view that the first iota of a gospel song idea, is not just about talent, but that songwriting is driven by all of life’s experiences. It involves a God who chooses, in His time, to make everything beautiful.

Her music is now available on Spotify, Apple Music, and iTunes.
