5 Students receive grants from Tropical Shipping SVG to start secondary school

Five students who excelled in this year’s Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA) have received funding from Tropical Shipping to begin their secondary level education.

In a press release, Tropical Shipping SVG said Kemmanique Williams, Keneem Samuel, Conroy John, Keshaun Walters and Shanda Jackson were recipients of the funding.

Each recipient received USD$300.00 ($1 USD = $2.70 XCD) grant to assist with the financial challenges associated with secondary education, the company said.

Tropical Shipping said the move is part of the company’s continued commitment to community development by awarding scholarships to five (5) students who excelled in this year’s Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA).

At the scholarship presentation ceremony, Maxine Howard, Sales Manager at Tropical Shipping spoke of the company’s dedication to fostering educational support for young people in St. Vincent & the Grenadines.

Also present was the Ministry of Education’s representative Ms. Elspeth Adams who expressed sincere gratitude for Tropical Shipping’s generous contribution. She encouraged the recipients to make the most of this opportunity and strive for academic excellence.

Parents also shared their appreciation for Tropical Shipping’s support, explaining that the funds will alleviate the financial burden of purchasing essential school supplies and uniforms, the company said.

Tropical Shipping’s investment in these young scholars is a testament to the company’s ongoing dedication to the communities it serve, the company said.
