Sandy Bay Secondary and EHSM show improvement in 2024 CSEC

The Sandy Bay Secondary School (SBSS) and the Emmanuel High School Mesopotamia (EHSM) show improvement in their performance at the 2024 CSEC examinations, the Ministry of Education says.

The Ministry says that in 2023, SBSS recorded a pass rate of 55.83% and EHSM recorded a pass rate of 45.75%. In 2024, SBSS pass rate increased to 73.64% and EHSM pass rate rose to 61.02%.

These figures represent an increase of 17.80% and 15.28% respectively, the ministry says.

The Ministry released the preliminary results of the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) administered Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate today (September 4) after querying “discrepancies”.
