Dr. Tamira Browne is new Permanent Secretary in Tourism Ministry

The Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development, and Culture announced Monday that Dr. Tamira Browne as its new Permanent Secretary acting (Ag.)

She succeeds Dr. Resa Noel who left the ministry in 2024 to take up duties as Head of the University of the West Indies Global Campus St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The current Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development, and Culture is Hon. Carlos James.

In a post on its official Facebook page, the Ministry said Dr. Browne brings a wealth of expertise, leadership, and passion to this role, with an impressive track record in foreign policy, international relations, and strategic development.

She holds undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in Administration, Banking and Finance, Integration Studies, and International Development, as well as a doctorate in Public Administration, the ministry said.

Preceding this role, Dr. Browne served as Director of Foreign Policy and Research in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Consumer Affairs, a role which has proven her strong diplomatic acumen and visionary thinking, essential for advancing key sectors of national development, the ministry said.
