Two people are reported dead following an incident at Diamond that authorities are investigating as a possible murder-suicide.

The event occurred near the seaside in Diamond, where a house was set ablaze with two individuals inside. It is believed that one of the persons, a woman named Natakie Haynes was already deceased before the fire began.

One News SVG was informed that a man and a woman had an altercation earlier this week.

The woman contacted the police, who subsequently attended the scene. The man allegedly told the woman, in the presence of the police, that “he would kill her and then drink Gramoxone.”

Gramaxone is a herbicide that is highly toxic and fatal to humans if consumed.

Residents of the community believe the woman may have died as early as yesterday (8 August); however, this information is yet to be confirmed.

In the early hours of Saturday morning (9 August), the man, identified only as Junior, is reported to have locked himself inside the house where the woman was located, poured a flammable substance around, and set the building on fire.

Several individuals reportedly attempted to intervene before he entered the house, but Junior allegedly repelled their efforts with a sharp object.

The nature of the relationship between the deceased man and woman remains unclear.

This is a developing story. We are actively gathering further details from community members and the authorities.

Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

The following is a photograph sent to us of the deceased woman.
