The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Consumer Affairs has announced that, on October 29, 2025, Cabinet approved the zero-rating of Value Added Tax (VAT) on nine additional food items and certain personal hygiene products, effective November 3rd, 2025.
According to the Ministry, the following items will now be zero-rated: other chicken parts (such as thighs and leg quarters), processed cheddar cheese, canned tuna, canned sardines, chicken sausages (all types), cereals, lentils, select health drinks (such as Ensure and Supligen), and adult pampers.
This decision is expected to make essential food and hygiene items more affordable for households across the country.
