Race for Inter-Primary cricket title down to four schools

The race for the 2026 Inter-Primary Schools Developmental Cricket Competition title is down to four schools following the completion of the quarter-final stage on Friday, June 5, 2026.

In a press release issued  June 5, the Division of Sports and Physical Activities announced that defending champions South Rivers Methodist School, along with Owia Government School, Georgetown Government School and Biabou Methodist School, have advanced to the semi-finals after securing quarter-final victories.

South Rivers Methodist booked their place in the final four with a 93-run victory over Canouan Government in Quarter Final One at the Stubbs Playing Field. South Rivers Methodist scored 193 for 5 in their 20 overs before restricting Canouan Government to 100 all out. Summar Chance led the bowling effort with figures of 5 for 8 from three overs.

Owia Government also progressed after defeating Fitz Hughes Government by 80 runs in Quarter Final Two. Owia Government amassed 238 for 4 in their 20 overs, with Amallie Lavia scoring an unbeaten 38. Fitz Hughes Government replied with 158 for 9, while J’Shawn Henry took 3 for 7 from three overs.

In Quarter Final Three at the Stubbs Playing Field, Georgetown Government defeated Dorsetshire Hill Government by 71 runs. Georgetown Government posted 236 for 7 in their 20 overs, led by Zarano Lewis with 20. Dorsetshire Hill Government were then restricted to 165 for 5 in reply, with Amando De Shong taking 2 for 17.

The closest contest of the day came in Quarter Final Four at the Sion Hill Playing Field, where Biabou Methodist edged Sion Hill Government by a single run. Biabou Methodist scored 212 for 6 from their 20 overs before Sion Hill Government finished on 211 for 6. Ayekira Jacobs claimed 4 for 26 to secure the narrow victory for Biabou Methodist.

The semi-finals are scheduled for Tuesday, June 9, 2026. South Rivers Methodist will face Biabou Methodist at the South Rivers Playing Field from 10:00 a.m., while Georgetown Government will take on Owia Government at the London Playing Field from 10:00 a.m.

The winners of those matches will advance to the final of the 2026 Inter-Primary Schools Developmental Cricket Competition.
