Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment and Diaspora Affairs, Dwight Fitzgerald Bramble, received a courtesy call from High Commissioner of India to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, His Excellency Subhash Prasad Gupta, during a meeting held on Monday, June 1, 2026, at the Ministry’s office.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions focused on bilateral cooperation between Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and India, including the ongoing Quick Impact Projects initiative and other matters of mutual interest aimed at strengthening development collaboration between the two countries.

The Ministry said the exchange provided an opportunity for both officials to review areas of cooperation and to reaffirm the longstanding diplomatic relationship between Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and India. Both sides also underscored their shared interest in advancing sustainable development and deepening engagement in areas of mutual benefit.

Discussions also focused on the ongoing Quick Impact Projects (QIPs) programme, a grant-funded initiative supported by the Government of India that finances small-scale community development projects across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The programme was first established through bilateral cooperation between the two countries in 2019 and has since supported the rehabilitation and construction of community facilities, recreational spaces and public infrastructure.

Recent projects have included the rehabilitation of the Edinboro Hardcourt, the Dauphine Community Centre, the Penniston Community Centre, and the construction of a gymnasium at the Central Leeward Secondary School.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Saint Vincent and the Grenadines remains committed to strengthening its partnership with India and continuing cooperation under existing development frameworks that contribute to national growth and community development.
