Kimonique Harry of Canouan was crowned Miss Grenadines 2026 on Saturday night after edging out a strong field of contestants in a closely contested pageant that highlighted the talent, intelligence and cultural pride of the Grenadine islands.

The competition, held at the Canouan Hard Court as part of Canouan Carnival 2026, featured six contestants representing Bequia, Mustique, Palm Island, Petit St. Vincent, Union Island and Canouan. Judges assessed the delegates in four categories: interview, swimwear, talent and evening gown.

Harry secured the coveted title before an enthusiastic home crowd after a competition so close that only one point separated the top two contestants.

Keanna Hackshaw of Union Island was named First Runner-Up, while Rolanda Samuel of Palm Island took the Second Runner-Up position.

The contestants were:

  • Kimonique Harry – Miss Canouan (Winner)
  • Keanna Hackshaw – Miss Union Island (First Runner-Up)
  • Rolanda Samuel – Miss Palm Island (Second Runner-Up)
  • Vonessa Greaves – Miss Petit St. Vincent
  • Rosetta Hendrickson – Miss Mustique
  • Astrel Bynoe – Miss Bequia

Several contestants were also recognised with special awards during the evening.

Keanna Hackshaw captured Miss Congeniality, Best Swimwear, and Best Evening Gown, while Vonessa Greaves won Best Interview. Kimonique Harry earned the award for Best Talent, and Rolanda Samuel was named Miss Photogenic.

The pageant opened with remarks from Parliamentary Representative Terrance Ollivierre, Carnival Development Corporation Rural Carnival Coordinator Codrian Simmons, and Club Nuevo President Hansel Henry, who commended the collective efforts of organisers, volunteers and supporters in preserving the cultural traditions of the Grenadines through the annual festival.

Entertainment throughout the night kept patrons engaged, culminating with a performance by 2026 Ragga Soca Monarch Champion D Fusion, who brought the show to a lively close.

The pageant followed Friday night’s official opening of Canouan Carnival 2026, when hundreds of revellers took to the streets for Night Mas, filling the island with music, lights and colourful costumes to mark the start of the nine-day festival.

Organisers are now looking ahead to the remaining activities on the carnival calendar, which include:

  • July 26: Kiddies Carnival
  • July 29: Tequila
  • July 30: Soca 360
  • July 31: BayWatch
  • August 1: SWAP
  • August 2: J’Ouvert and Street Jam

Club Nuevo has also expressed gratitude to its sponsors, partners, volunteers, performers and supporters whose contributions continue to make the annual celebration possible.

With a successful opening weekend now complete, Canouan Carnival 2026 is set to continue showcasing the music, culture and community spirit that have made it one of the Grenadines’ signature summer festivals.
