NASCAR driver and St Vincent and the Grenadines sporting ambassador Rajah Caruth spent Thursday discovering a different side of his ancestral homeland, venturing off the beaten path with Coastal Adrenaline on an ATV tour that showcased the island’s rugged south-east coastline, hidden landmarks and natural beauty.
Joining Caruth on the excursion was his girlfriend, Hollywood actress and Black-ish star Marsai Martin, along with his parents, sister and other relatives. The group was accompanied by a production team from TEMPO, including the network’s Chief Executive Officer and a camera crew documenting the visit.
Caruth chose Coastal Adrenaline’s signature Sunset ATV Tour, seeking an experience beyond the island’s traditional visitor attractions. The approximately 90-minute journey combined scenic coastal views, historical sites and secluded trails, culminating in a sunset overlooking the Caribbean Sea.
The visit began at Coastal Adrenaline’s base in Brighton, where Caruth and his family received a warm Vincentian welcome from the company’s staff.
Before setting off, the NASCAR star was surprised with a specially commissioned helmet created in his honour. The one-of-a-kind design featured the colours of the St Vincent and the Grenadines flag on either side, the Coastal Adrenaline logo at the front and Caruth’s name across the back.
The gesture visibly caught the racing star off guard, and he proudly wore the customised helmet as the group began their adventure.
One of the first stops along the route was Sheep Pen in Brighton, a site linked to a former plantation where livestock farming once played an important role. From the elevated location, the group also enjoyed panoramic views of Milligan Cay, a protected offshore islet that serves as a habitat for local and migratory bird species.
The tour later reached one of Coastal Adrenaline’s signature attractions, the Celebrity River Trail, where notable visitors are recognised with commemorative plaques marking their visit.
The trail already honours several regional and international personalities, including dancehall artistes Vybz Kartel and Beenie Man, Vincentian soca stars Skinny Fabulous and Problem Child, comedian White Yardie and Olympian Shafiqua Maloney.
There, Coastal Adrenaline Chief Executive Officer Jerol Huggins Jackson had another surprise in store.
In the presence of Caruth’s family and the TEMPO camera crew, Jackson unveiled a plaque bearing the NASCAR driver’s name, officially adding him to the Celebrity River Trail.
The unexpected tribute drew an appreciative reaction from Caruth, who thanked the Coastal Adrenaline team before posing for photographs with his family beside the newly unveiled plaque.
Jackson said the recognition reflected Caruth’s role as one of St Vincent and the Grenadines’ most prominent international sporting ambassadors.
“We were extremely proud that when Rajah wanted to explore St Vincent off the beaten path, the SVG Tourism Authority selected Coastal Adrenaline,” Jackson said. “Rajah continues to carry the name and flag of St Vincent and the Grenadines onto an international stage, and we wanted his experience with us to reflect how proud we are of him. Adding his name to our Celebrity River Trail ensures that his visit will remain a permanent part of the Coastal Adrenaline story.”
The adventure continued with stops at the popular “I ❤️ SVG” sign and GOAT Point, where the group paused to take in sweeping views of the coastline and capture photographs.
Caruth and his family also visited the Diamond area, the proposed location for Coastal Adrenaline’s planned zipline attraction. According to the company, the project forms part of its vision to expand adventure tourism offerings while creating new ways for visitors to experience the island’s landscape.
As the tour concluded, the group returned to the Brighton base, where they were welcomed with refreshments before Caruth received another personalised keepsake, a custom-designed baseball cap celebrating both St Vincent and the Grenadines and Coastal Adrenaline.
For the company, hosting Caruth represented more than welcoming a celebrity visitor. It was an opportunity to showcase the country’s growing adventure tourism sector through the experience of an athlete who continues to promote St Vincent and the Grenadines on one of the world’s biggest motorsport stages.
Caruth’s visit also offered international exposure through the presence of Marsai Martin and the TEMPO production team, further highlighting the island as a destination where visitors can discover authentic experiences beyond the traditional tourism circuit.
As St Vincent and the Grenadines continues to diversify its tourism product, experiences such as Coastal Adrenaline’s ATV tours are helping to position the country as a destination for adventure, nature and cultural exploration, allowing visitors to see a side of the island that few experience from the main road.
