Police investigate 32nd Homicide in SVG for 2026

Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 54-year-old man whose body was discovered in the White Chapel Road area of Kingstown shortly after midnight on Tuesday.

The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) said Mark Shallow, of Kingstown/Georgetown, was found with what appeared to be gunshot wounds after officers responded to reports of a shooting in the vicinity of White Chapel Road at about 12:30 a.m. on August 18.

According to the police, Shallow was pronounced dead at the scene by a District Medical Officer.

A post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out to determine the exact cause of death.

Investigators processed the scene and have launched an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

His death marks the 32nd homicide to date for 2026 in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG). 

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time of the shooting, or who may have information that could assist investigators, to contact the Officer in Charge of the Criminal Investigations Department/Major Crime Unit at 456-1810 or 457-1211, extensions 4837 or 4839. Information can also be provided by calling 999 or 911.

The RSVGPF has assured the public that all information received will be treated in the strictest confidence.
