Residents of Union Island will have the opportunity to access free health screenings, educational resources and family-friendly activities when the Ministry of Health hosts a community Health Fair in Clifton this Thursday.
The event will take place at the Ferry Terminal and Market in Clifton on Thursday, October 1, from 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., under the Ministry’s “How Yuh Feeling?” public health campaign.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, the Ministry of Health, Wellness, Environmental Health and Energy encouraged residents to make time for their health and the wellbeing of their families.
“Your health matters. Your family’s health matters. And taking a little time to check in, get screened, and stay healthy can make a big difference,” the Ministry said.
The Health Fair will offer HIV and Hepatitis B screenings, alongside mental health and nutrition education aimed at promoting healthier lifestyles.
Families attending the event can also look forward to games, prizes and a dedicated Kiddies Corner, with organisers saying the fair is designed to provide health information and support for people of all ages.
The Ministry is encouraging residents to take advantage of the free services, whether they are seeking a health screening, looking to learn more about healthy living or simply spending time with their families in a community-focused environment.
The outreach forms part of ongoing efforts to improve public awareness of preventive healthcare and encourage Vincentians to take an active role in protecting their health.
The Ministry is inviting Union Island residents to come out, get screened and stay informed as part of the community health initiative.
