3 Drivers rewarded for courtesy, service and safe driving

Three motorists have been recognised by the Traffic Branch of the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force for responsible driving and exemplary service.

Goods vehicle driver Bertram Browne of North Union was recognised for responsible driving, courtesy and respect for traffic regulations.

Garfield Joseph of Campden Park received an award for exemplary service as a minibus driver, while Rommël De Freitas of Cane Garden was recognised for his standard of driving within the private sector.

Speaking to One News St.Vincent PC 225 Ford of the RSVGPF Traffic Branch said that the selection process was based on recommendation from various members of the public ,their own observation and investigation 

The three motorists were recognised on Friday, October 2, during the Traffic Branch’s Customer Appreciation Day.

Meanwhile Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Security Major St. Clair Leacock praised traffic officers for their daily work in maintaining order and safety on the nation’s roads. The Minister also commended senior police officers who returned to traffic duties at junctions as part of the initiative.

The Customer Appreciation Day shifted the focus from traffic enforcement to public engagement, giving motorists an opportunity to interact with police officers in a less formal setting.

The Traffic Branch says the recognition of the three drivers highlights the importance of compliance with traffic regulations, professional service and consideration for other road users.
