Saint Lucian motorcyclists in St. Vincent and the Grenadines for the country’s 47th Independence celebrations say they will continue visiting the destination, despite recent media reports involving one of their fellow bikers.
In an interview with the National Independence Committee, one Saint Lucian national and his counterparts said St. Vincent is beautiful and that they will always return.
The visiting bikers also met with tourism and police officials on Monday, October 26. Chief Executive Officer of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority, Shafia T. London, joined Acting Commissioner of Police Trevor Bailey and Head of the Traffic Department, Superintendent of Police Parnell Browne, for the engagement.
According to information shared with One News SVG by the Tourism Authority, the meeting gave officials the chance to hear the bikers’ concerns, exchange views and find common ground through open and respectful dialogue.
Following the meeting, many of the Saint Lucian visitors repeated the same sentiment, saying they will return to SVG because the two countries are one family.
The Tourism Authority said that as St. Vincent and the Grenadines marks 47 years of Independence, meaningful dialogue and mutual understanding remain essential to creating a welcoming experience for all visitors.
It added that as the country welcomes visitors to experience its culture, heritage and festivities, it remains committed to building positive relationships based on cooperation, understanding and mutual respect.
