Grant Thornton St Vincent is recruiting, and the firm is opening its doors to accountants at several stages of their careers.
The professional services firm, part of Grant Thornton East Caribbean, is looking for Staff Accountants and Seniors to join its audit team at the St Vincent office. A separate vacancy for an Accounting and Administrative Assistant is also on offer.
For the audit roles, successful candidates will work as part of engagement teams that audit financial statements in line with accounting and auditing standards. The work involves advanced audit software and other technology tools, so comfort with digital systems will matter.
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, management or a related field. The firm wants people with strong interpersonal and communication skills who are self-motivated, focused on results and happy working in a team. Previous experience in a relevant role, with skills that carry over, would be an asset. Holding a professional qualification such as the ACCA, or its equivalent, is described as a distinct advantage.
Those interested in the audit positions should email a detailed resume to gtinfo@vc.gt.com.

The Accounting and Administrative Assistant role blends bookkeeping with wide-ranging administrative and business support for the management team in what the firm calls a busy professional office. Here, practical experience counts. Candidates need at least three years of relevant experience and well-developed bookkeeping skills. That includes keeping the cash book, reconciling bank accounts and all significant General Ledger accounts, preparing invoices and journals, maintaining the asset register, and preparing monthly VAT and other tax returns.
The firm is also looking for excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work within a dynamic team of professionals, strong integrity suited to a financial stewardship role and an absolute commitment to confidentiality. Computer literacy is required, including advanced use of Microsoft Office. Experience with a Time Recording and Billing system in a professional office would give applicants an edge.
Candidates for this post are asked to submit their resumes along with two references.

Grant Thornton East Caribbean offers audit and assurance, tax and advisory services, with offices across the region, including St Vincent, St Lucia, St Kitts, Antigua and Barbados. Globally, Grant Thornton describes itself as one of the world’s leading networks of independent professional services firms, with more than 76,000 people in over 145 countries.
The firm has thanked all applicants for their interest but noted that only suitable candidates, or those selected for interview, will be contacted.
