Kingstown, St. Vincent (ONE NEWS SVG) – Vincentians in need of dialysis treatment are now able to benefit from a further reduction in the cost per session for dialysis.
Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said in Parliament on Wednesday, (August 13), that Cabinet has approved a further reduction from EC$150 per session to EC$100 per session for dialysis treatment.
The new EC$100 cost per session comes just days after treatment was reduced from EC$250 to EC$150 per session.
The government had already been subsiding the cost of dialysis treatment.
Vincentians can take advantage of the reduction in the cost of the service offered by the Modern Medical Complex at Georgetown until December, 2020, in the first instance.
The news is expected to be welcomed by persons experiencing renal problems.
