Welcome to the New Normal

A message from the CARICOM Youth Ambassadors (CYA) SVG 2020 committee

Twenty-twenty has been an unprecedented year, the COVID-19 Pandemic has introduced never before seen elements to the teaching and learning process, forcing classes online and some students and teachers out of the classroom for over 5 months. Schools have emerged as a public safety concern and now more than ever educational institutions are at the centre of the health and development of youth.

Students, as we welcome you back to the classroom, we welcome you to a “New Normal”.  A normal that will include new protocols and practices for safety. We encourage all students to adhere to all safety measures such as; temperature checks, washing and sanitisation of hand and surfaces, appropriate face coverings and physical distancing. We recognize the difficulty in this new environment that learning, socialisation and play will look differently.

Nonetheless, we encourage all students to continue to strive for excellence and endeavour to have a productive term ahead. We are confident in the continued support from parents, guardians and educators and reaffirm our faith in the school as a place of learning and socialisation. We welcome the class of 2020-2021, welcome to a new academic year, to new classes, new friends, new methods of teaching and a “New normal”.
