Kingstown, St. Vincent (ONE NEWS SVG) – A 37-year old Grenadian national tested positive for COVID-19 six days after leaving St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
A release from the Health Services Sub-committee of the National Emergency Organization (NEMO) said the Vincentian officials were informally notified on Sunday about the development.
The female traveled from St Vincent on Saturday December 12, 2020 with a negative RT-PCR result for a test done on Wednesday December 9, 2020. On Thursday December 17, day 6 of quarantine in Grenada, the individual tested positive.
The Health Services Sub-committee has commenced investigations of this reported case including contact tracing and testing which thus far have not revealed any positive cases. The public will be updated when further information is available,” the release from NEMO said.
There has been an upsurge in COVID-19 cases in Grenada after cases started surging at an international hotel.
Grenada now has fifty-four (54) active cases of COVID-19.
