16.3 percent reduction in crime – Police Commissioner

Kingstown, St. Vincent (ONE NEWS SVG) – Commissioner of Police, Colin John says crime continues to decline on the trend line.

In his 2020 Christmas message, commissioner John said the trend in the reduction in crime has been going in that trajectory for a number of years.

He said the for the period December 2020, there is a 16.3 percent decrease in crimes when compared to the corresponding period in 2019.

Commissioner John said the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadine Police Force will continue to spare no effort in preventing and detecting crimes; while ensuring that the criminals are prosecuted.

Figures for the different types of crimes committed for 2020, including homicides, are expected to be available by early next year.
