Kingstown, St. Vincent (ONE NEWS SVG) – Two health care workers were tested positive for COVID-19.
The infections took place outside of the health facilities where they worked, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Simone Keizer Beache confirmed today at a press conference.
The two workers are stable and are not ill to be admitted
Contact-tracing is ongoing for work-related and home or non-work contacts, the CMO said.
Beache is urging all persons to wear masks to protect each other.
Meanwhile, Beache said that two hotels have been removed from list of approved facilities due to breach in quarantine protocols.
Some 16 local cases have so far been recorded with most of them belonging to two different clusters. Over 200 persons have been contacted through contact-tracing.
