Over 6,000 vaccinated in SVG in response to COVID-19

More than 6,000 persons have received Covid-19 vaccines in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

According to the latest COVID-19 report published by the Ministry of Health, 6,067 individuals received a Covid-19 vaccine. The vast majority of that number are individuals who received their first dose.

The number of active Covid-19 cases has fallen to 555, with 1,100 recoveries.

The number of Covid-19 related deaths stands at eight.

The government launched its National Vaccination Drive on March 3, 2021 at the Victoria Park. The launch came after the Government of St. Vincent received some 40,000 doses of the Covishield (Indian) AstraZeneca vaccine from India.

Since then, vaccinations have been ongoing at the various health districts throughout the country.
