United States (U.S) citizens overseas who have U.S passports that expired on or after January 1, 2020, will be allowed to use those passports to return to the U.S under limited circumstances.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the U.S Embassy in Bridgetown, Barbados made the announcement on behalf of the U.S Department of State, the U.S Department of Homeland Security’s U.S Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and commercial airlines.
Expired U.S passport holders (on or before 1st January, 2020) can return to the United States of America from now through December 31, 2021, the release stated.
