Condition deteriorating: former PM Mitchell to be flown out

The medical condition of former prime minister, Sir James Mitchell is deteriorating and he is to be flown to Barbados for advanced medical treatment, sources close to the matter say.

Sir James was admitted to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital in the early hours of October 31, 2021, feeling unwell.

It was later reported that he was in need of blood donations after suffering from dengue fever.

Sir James, the country’s second prime minister, is 90 years old.
