Principal of the Mountain View Adventist Academy, Mr. Gabriel Bowman was physically assaulted by a student on Wednesday, the school has confirmed.
The assault on Mr. Bowman at the Christian institution which is operated by the Seventh Day Adventist Church took place after morning devotions on Wednesday, May 18.
After the incident, Mr. Bowman had to leave the school to seek medical attention.
It is not clear what gave rise to the assault, but sources say the male student who committed the assault was suspended from school before and was able to return due to intervention by the Ministry of Education.
It has been reported also that the student was wearing brass knuckles to inflict bodily harm on the principal which left the principal bleeding.
Today, Thursday, May 19, Mr. Bowman will be attending a principal’s meeting.
The incident at the school which is known to have a good reputation and outstanding academic performances has shocked many.
The ministry of education is expected to look into the matter which has already been reported to the police.
