An outdoor movie service will be launched in St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Saturday, May 28.
The outdoor cinema – Sundown Cinema, is a Vincy/UK production.
The owner of Sundown Cinema, Temora Providence-York, a Vincentian-national said: “I’m excited to bring this experience to St Vincent, I spent many summers in the UK attending these outdoor cinema events and wanted to bring this international experience to our shores”.
She said: “There is sometimes just so little to do as friends and family together; we also currently have no local cinema,so this will be a clean, fun evening out with good food – which, as a bonus, doesn’t leave a hole in your pocket”.
In the outdoor setting, “the best movies” will be projected onto a 25-foot screen in full HD/4K video and with the sharpest audio, a release from Sundown Cinema stated.
The first event will take place at the Grammar School Playing Field on Sat the 28th May from 5: 30pm onwards. Guests will be treated to classic movies, fresh popcorn, real ice-cream, food and drinks all served under the stars, the release stated.
The event will run on consecutive nights of Saturday the 28th and Sun 29th May; attendees should bring a blanket, pillows or comfy chair to sit on; doors will open from 5:30p.m, with food available from the start and the movie will start at 630pm sharp.
There won’t be any allocated spaces, so guests should come early to secure their preferred spot, the release further stated.
Tickets will be available on the door or in advance from the Irie Travel Services in Kingstown or by contacting us via social media or via WhatsApp 593 6316. More information on the company and the event can be found at Instagram & Facebook @sundowncinema.svg
The press and public are invited to the grand opening of Sundown Cinema on Saturday 28th May 2022.
The owners, Temora Providence-York and Daniel York spent many years as professionals working in international companies but always wanted to be back on home soil doing something they love and being part of the community; and so they welcome you to join them at this exciting new event.
