Another homicide: East Kingstown family mourns

St. Vincent and Grenadines recorded its 31st homicide for 2022 on Saturday 10th September.

Dead is Matthew Charles of Mala Village, Sion Hill in East Kingstown. Charles was shot multiple times in the early hours of Saturday according to reports.

Villagers discovered the body and contacted the police who are now investigating.

On Friday, a mask gunman opened fire, shooting Garnet Flingo Wilkins at a house in Buddy Gutter.

Parliamentary representative for East Kingstown, Mr. Dwight Fitz Bramble, in a live video, expressed condolences to the family of the deceased.

He said: “I just came from visiting the family and it’s really tough. The family is distraught…”.

“I am going to sit down with my team and figure out what we can do to contribute to a solution,” the opposition member of parliament said.
