A fire claimed the life of one in New Chapmans Village, Georgetown last evening.
Dead is 69 year old Conroy “Bruds” Dallaway.
According to his daughter Joy Ballantyne of the same address, the fire which started around 8:30pm “left his body badly burnt.”
Ballantyne, who said her father’s dwelling place was built mainly from galvanize, added that “his feet and hands were completely burnt off”.
She said: “my dad didn’t didn’t deserve to die this way, I will miss him very much.”
The cause of the fire is unknown. The police are investigating the matter.
