Luke Browne called to the Bar in SVG

Politician and social activist Mr. Luke Browne has been called to the Bar in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and can now practice Law in the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court.

Mr. Browne was joined by family, friends, and well wishers during a special sitting of the High Court on December 6.

“I took the oath of office and pledged to do my best in serving the interests of justice over the course of my entire legal career, so help me God,” Mr. Browne said in a post today.

Luke Browne was born on 4 October 1985.

Early Education in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG)

Mr. Browne has an outstanding record of scholastic achievement at all stages of his life as outlined below:

He was a top performer in the Common Entrance Exams of 1997.

He was the top performer in the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations in 2002.

He was named a National Scholar of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in 2004.

Non-Law University Studies

Mr. Browne was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus on 1stJuly 2008.

He became the first Vincentian to be awarded a Rhodes Scholarship in 2008.

He completed a Master of Science Degree in Applied Statistics at the University of Oxford on the 5 October 2011.

Career in Government so far

In the period 2013-2020, Mr. Browne served the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines successively as Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture (2013-2015) and Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment (2015-2020).

Law Studies

He completed a Graduate Diploma in Law at the BPP University Law School by Distance in 2017.

Mr. Browne was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (Bar) on 1st September 2022 after completing the relevant programme on 8th July 2022.

He was called to the Bar of England and Wales on 21st July 2022.
