St. Vincent Girls’ High one of three adjudged Most Outstanding Secondary School at 2023 VINLEC Science & Tech Fair

The St. Vincent Girls’ High School (GHS) is one of three secondary schools across the country that have been awarded the Most Outstanding Secondary School title in the 2023 Ministry of Education – VINLEC Science and Technology Fair.

The Fair saw participation from several primary and secondary schools across the country in varying categories.

It was held from November 7 – 10 at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown.

The St. Vincent Girls’ High School (GHS), Bishop’s College Kingstown, and Georgetown Secondary School were all adjudged the top secondary schools in the fair.

UPDATE: The results were not ranked as previously reported.

Students from the GHS also captured some key awards.

At the secondary level, the school’s chemistry and physics students captured Most Outstanding Projects Overall awards.

Mya Cumberbatch and Nyah James captured the award for the Most Outstanding Project Overall in Chemistry with their project entitled – Lemon Battery. This project was also adjudged the Most Outstanding Project by Level.

The Most Outstanding Project Overall in Physics was captured by Alexia Laborde and Amira Onu with their Pineball Machine project.

The GHS also captured awards in the categories of Agricultural Science, Behavioral Science, Chemistry, Environmental Science, and Food Science in the Upper Secondary category.

In the Lower Secondary category, the GHS won Engineering and Environmental Science.
