St. Mary’s RC one of three adjudged Most Outstanding Primary School in 2023 Vinlec Science & Tech Fair

The St. Mary’s Roman Catholic (RC) School is among three schools that have been adjudged the top performers in the 2023 Ministry of Education – VINLEC National Science and Technology Fair.

The Fair saw participation from several primary and secondary schools across the country in varying categories.

It was held from November 7 – 10 at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown.

The St. Mary’s Roman Catholic School, the Calliaqua Anglican School, the Lower Bay Primary Inc., were all adjudged the top schools at the primary level.

UPDATE: The final results were not ranked, as previously reported.

The Most Outstanding School results as published by the Ministry of Education’s Education Media Unit.

Students from the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic School also captured some key awards.

In the Science, Technology and Environment category two of the school’s projects were among the Most Outstanding Projects Overall, at the primary school level.

Azailia Johnson captured an award for the Most Outstanding Project Overall in Science, Technology, and Environment with her project entitled – Beebots: Nature’s Little Helpers. Azailia’s project also won the award for the Most Outstanding Project by Level. It was also adjudged an Upper Secondary Level winner.

Soy Toney also captured an award for the Most Outstanding Project Overall in Science, Technology, and Environment with a project entitled: A Smart Irrigation System.

St. Mary’s also captured another award in the Upper Secondary Level. Under the category of Technology, Zendaya Alexander won an award for a project entitled: Tsunami Warning System.
