Twenty-seven mothers residing at the Lewis Punnett Home received gifts from Courts St Vincent Limited on Sunday as part of the company’s Mother’s Day community outreach initiative.
The items presented to the residents included sweet treats, snack boxes, pillows and personal care bags for each mother.
In a statement, Courts said the initiative was organised as a gesture of love and appreciation for the residents of the home, many of whom have been abandoned or receive little to no support from their families.
“The atmosphere was filled with gratitude and emotion as residents expressed appreciation for the thoughtful gesture, which brought comfort and joy to many. The donation formed part of Courts’ continued commitment to giving back to vulnerable communities and supporting those who are often forgotten,” the company said.
Speaking during the handover, representatives from Courts said Mother’s Day is not only a time to celebrate mothers within families, but also an opportunity to recognise and uplift mothers and elderly women living in care institutions who may feel lonely or neglected.
“Our visit today was about more than just gifts,” the company said. “It was about reminding the residents that they are valued, remembered, and loved. Everyone deserves to feel appreciated, especially our mothers and senior citizens.”
Management and staff of the Lewis Punnett Home expressed gratitude to Courts for the donation and for taking the time to bring smiles to the faces of the residents.
Courts said it remains committed to initiatives that positively impact communities across St Vincent and the Grenadines and hopes acts of kindness such as these will inspire others to support and uplift the nation’s elderly population.
