Excitement is building in Calliaqua as the official launch of East St George Rural Carnival 2026 and the return of the popular Culture Pot Activities take centre stage this evening.

The launch event, scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., is expected to attract residents, supporters and carnival enthusiasts for an evening of music, culture and entertainment.

Patrons attending the event will also see performances from several leading local artistes who are expected to showcase songs for the 2026 Vincy Mas season.

The activities are being organised by the East St. George Steering Committee, which has outlined a packed programme of events for this year’s celebrations.

Among the major activities planned are Night Mas at the Calliaqua Hardcourt on 23 May, Calypso, Soca, Mon & Pan on 5 June, followed by J’Ouvert and Jump Up on 6 June. The celebrations will conclude with a Kids Carnival and Street Parade Fun Day on 7 June in Calliaqua.

Organisers say the combined launch of East St George Carnival and the Culture Pot Activities reflects a renewed effort to highlight the culture, creativity and community spirit of East St George as preparations for Vincy Mas 2026 gather momentum. Vincy Mas 2026 officially runs from Friday, June 26 to Tuesday, July 7, 2026, this year’s theme is “ The Great Escape”
