Man charged, granted $10,000 bail after discharging firearm at another

Police say a 34-year-old man farmer of Langley Park was arrested, charged and placed on $10,000 bail after discharging an illegal firearm at another man.

In an April 24 press release, police identified the man as Adonijah Caine.

“The Accused allegedly unlawfully discharged a firearm at a 21years Farmer of New Chapmansby pointing and discharging same at him,” police said.

“The offense was committed at Dickson Village about 8:00 am on April 22, 2024,” police said.

“Caine appeared before the Serious Offences Court and pleaded not guilty. He was granted bail in the sum of $10,00.00 ECC with one surety,” police said.

He was also ordered to report at the Georgetown Police Station every Monday between 8am and 8pm and the matter was adjourned to the 3rd. June.2024,” police added.

The police have been reminding members of the public to take advantage of its current National Gun Amnesty Programme which ends on May 31, 2024.

The gun amnesty programme took effect on March 1, 2024.
