Police investigating body found on beach in Bequia

The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) said it is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body found early this morning on a beach in La Pompe, Bequia.

In a press release issued today (April 24) the RSVGPF said the deceased has been identified as a 71-year-old female from Harmony Hall.

“Police received the report of the deceased at approximately 6:10 AM today. Preliminary information indicates that the deceased was staying at a nearby apartment and was last seen on the beach around 6 PM yesterday evening,” police said.

“A post-mortem examination will be conducted soon to determine the cause of death,” police said.

The RSVGPF said it is diligently continuing this investigation and asks anyone with information to contact Police Emergency at 999/911, The Port Elizabeth Police Station at 784-458-3350 or the Criminal Investigations Department at 784-456-1810.

“During this challenging time, the RSVGPF expresses its deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased,” police said in the press release.
