Hundreds gather to support 11 secondary school music bands talent showcase

Hundreds of people are currently gathered at the Grenadines Wharf Lawn area in Kingstown to support the 2024 edition of the National School Bands Showcase.

Students from music bands at eleven secondary schools from across the country are participating in the event.

The event is being put off by the Department of Culture.

The schools are the West St. George Secondary, the St. Martins Secondary, the Bishop’s College Kingstown, Sandy Bay Secondary, the Emmanuel High School Mesopotamia, Central Leeward Secondary, the Bethel High School, the Thomas Saunders Secondary, the Canouan Secondary School, North Union Secondary, and the Buccament Bay Secondary.

The students are performing covers of popular songs and some of the bands are performing original songs.
