Mustique Island, one of the official pages that communicates about Mustique says that everyone on the island is safe after the passage of Hurricane Beryl.

Mustique is a privately-run island in the Northern Grenadines that is part of the State of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Since Beryl struck on July 1 and devastated the Southern Grenadines, displaced people on mainland St. Vincent and Bequia, and affected telecommunications, people have been wondering about its impact on Mustique.

In a recent post, Mustique Island said: “We are sure by now you have seen the devastation caused by Hurricane Beryl on Monday. We are extremely grateful that everyone on island is safe and that despite significant superficial damage, the island’s core infrastructure is intact”.

The Island also announced its solidarity with the Southern Grenadines and its humanitarian assistance provided so far.

“However, the Grenadines have been badly hit. Union Island has been rendered completely uninhabitable and thousands of men, woman and children are currently being relocated to provide shelter, food and water. We are doing everything we can to manage the aftermath here on Mustique while also supporting our neighbouring Grenadine islands,” the page said.

“Our Aircraft are currently being used to provide much-needed supplies and assist with the evacuation of people from Union to Kingstown,” the page added.

A few individuals on the island also told One News SVG that everyone on the island is safe.
