The upgraded Automated System for Customs Data (ASYCUDA) World 4.4 platform is expected to strengthen digital operations across the national logistics chain, including at the Modern Port Operations Company (MPOC).
Speaking at the launch, Comptroller of Customs Selwyn DaSilva said the system would introduce a fully digital environment where declarations, approvals, inspections and payments can be processed electronically.
The Customs chief said examining officers would now use tablets to conduct inspections and approvals in real time, replacing paper-based processes.

He said all agency decisions and interventions would be logged and tracked electronically, improving transparency, accountability and efficiency throughout the trade system.
Mr DaSilva specifically acknowledged MPOC’s role in supporting the transition, saying the company’s alignment with Customs’ digital vision continues to strengthen the country’s logistics ecosystem.
The ASYCUDA upgrade is the first phase of the wider V-SWIFT initiative, which will eventually connect 22 government agencies into a single online trade platform.
According to Mr DaSilva, the reforms will help create a trade environment that is more efficient, transparent and responsive to the needs of businesses operating in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
