Jasper “Jasper YMC” Alexander and Tyrique “D’Fusion” Thomas emerged as St Vincent and the Grenadines’ newest Soca Monarchs after claiming top honours in the Power Soca and Ragga Soca competitions respectively at Independence Park on Saturday night.

The results of the 2026 National Soca Monarch and Ragga Soca Monarch competitions were officially released on Sunday morning, confirming Alexander’s victory with his song “Rum Island”, while Thomas captured the Ragga Soca title with “Here to Stay”.

Alexander dethroned reigning Power Soca Monarch Delroy “Fireman” Hooper, whose 2026 entry, “Dem Vincy”, finished outside the top three. The victory marks a changing of the guard in the competition after Fireman’s reign. Alexander’s national victory also came after he won the 2026 All Windwards Soca Monarch competition in June.

In the Ragga Soca category, Thomas also reclaimed the crown by unseating defending champion Utamu “Bongo Prime” Rose. The win represents a return to the summit for D’Fusion, who previously won the Ragga Soca Monarch title in 2020 with “Lockdown” before placing third in 2025 with “Mission”.

The top three results in each category were as follows:

Power Soca Monarch 2026

  1. Jasper “Jasper YMC” Alexander – “Rum Island”
  2. Kevon “Sick O” Shallow – “Shut Yo Mouth”
  3. Claydon “Dymez” Roache & Elrico “Da Pixel” Hunte – “Do the Most”

Ragga Soca Monarch 2026

  1. Tyrique “D’Fusion” Thomas – “Here to Stay”
  2. Keith “Currency” Stapleton & Jamarie “L’Pank” Stapleton – “Alcohol”
  3. Shorn “Shorn Beats” Nimblet – “Stageshow”

The competitions featured a strong field of performers, showcasing the depth of Vincentian soca talent as the country continues its Vincy Mas celebrations.

Alexander’s triumph secures him the coveted Power Soca Monarch title for 2026, while D’Fusion adds a second Ragga Soca crown to his career, cementing his reputation as one of the country’s leading performers in the genre.
