
K Group seeking experienced Network Technician

The K Group is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Network Technician, as the company seeks to strengthen its technical infrastructure and network operations.
The position is aimed at an experienced, mid-level technician who will be responsible for managing, optimising and securing the organisation’s network infrastructure.
According to the vacancy notice, the successful candidate will work across several areas, including the configuration and troubleshooting of virtual local area networks (VLANs), deployment and maintenance of IP-based phone systems, and ensuring reliable connectivity for Point of Sale (POS) and Property Management Systems (PMS).
The role also includes responsibility for elements of physical security technology. These include IP-based CCTV surveillance networks, Network Video Recorders (NVRs), smart locks and electronic access-control systems.
Among the key responsibilities are network segregation and troubleshooting, maintaining Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) systems and Quality of Service (QoS) mappings, and providing network-level support for POS terminals and PMS infrastructure.
The successful applicant will also be expected to install and maintain network-connected CCTV systems, manage smart access-control technology, diagnose network slowdowns, optimise switches and routers, update system firmware and maintain secure backups.
Experience and qualifications
The K Group is seeking candidates with three to five years of active experience working as a network technician or infrastructure administrator.
Applicants should have strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols, DNS, DHCP, VLAN tagging (802.1Q) and QoS rules. Hands-on experience with managed network switches, routers, firewalls and wireless access points is also required.
Practical experience with IP cameras, CCTV systems, electronic smart locks, POS hardware and PMS suites is identified as part of the desired technical skill set.
The company is also looking for strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills, particularly the ability to identify and address network bottlenecks or physical access failures promptly.
Professional certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA or equivalent credentials are highly preferred.
