Kingstown, St. Vincent (One News SVG) – The Ministry of Education will put material online to assist parents of preschoolers in St. Vincent and the Grenadines from Monday April 20.
The move will enable parents to teach their children as schools across the country remain closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a public announcement published on Facebook on Sunday, the Education Media Unit said “Parents, guardians and all other stakeholders of children attending preschools in St Vincent and the Grenadines, please note that as from Monday 20th April 2020, formal preschool learning activities will be done online via the Facebook page SVG EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION”.
“Please collaborate with us as we continue our children’s education. Join us from 9:00 a.m as we take a journey UNDER THE SEA” – the post added.
One News SVG contacted the minister of education, Jimmy Prince to gain clarity on the move.
Minister Prince said “Information regarding early stimulation will be put online for parents and teachers..of preschoolers, so that the parents in particular can continue to engage their children even though the schools are closed”.
The move comes as the reopening of schools still hangs in the balance due to the uncertainty brought about by Covid-19.
