Kingstown, St. Vincent (ONE NEWS SVG) – St. Vincent and the Grenadines received 40,000 surgical masks from the Government of China on Taiwan, Health Minister, Senator Luke Browne has said.
In an update to the nation on April 17 about his ministry’s Covid-19 response, Senator Browne said the donation from Taiwan also included six (6) thermal imaging devices.
“The masks have already landed, these are useful items” – Senator Browne said.
Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves had said on April 3 that the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines was budgeting for 300,000 medical face masks.

In the same April 3 statement, Dr. Gonsalves had said that Taiwan had promised 40,000 surgical and N95 masks and an Infrared facility to test temperatures but, there was no precise date given for when the items will arrive in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
