Georgetown, St. Vincent (ONE NEWS SVG) – A COVID-19 positive individual who broke isolation orders and visited the Modern Medical and Diagnostic Center at Georgetown has led to the closure of the Accident and Emergency Department of the facility.
A release from the National Emergency Management Organization – NEMO, on Wednesday, States that due to the presence of the COVID-19 positive person in the area, ten (10) clients and seven (7) staff members at the facility were possibly exposed to COVID-19.
The individuals have been advised to quarantine.
The temporary closure of the Accident and Emergency Department will make way for the sanitization of the area.
In the interim, the Georgetown District Clinic will be used to facilitate accident and emergency services.
