Campaign promises for North WINDWARD: Daniel Vs John

In this issue we focus the attention on the constituency of North Windward, where we have the incumbent (ULP) candidate Mr. Montgomery Daniel and the (NDP) first time candidate Mrs. Shevern John. Their plans are as follows but are not limited to:

Mr. Montgomery Daniel: {The following information was taken from his speeches delivered on ULP platforms during the period August – September 2020.} This is the incumbent’s 6th consecutive time contesting to represent the constituency of North Windward in a general elections. In addition to his ongoing works, his development plans are as follows:

  1. Build a Secondary school at Sandy Bay.
  2. Build an Arrowroot factory at Orange Hill.
  3. Establish a sea defense project at Sandy Bay.
  4. Consolidate the operations at Langley Park Boxing Plant for the purchase of farmer’s produce.
  5. Create linkages between indigenous people across the world.
  6. Further expansion of the housing program.
  7. Twin the marijuana and the arrowroot industry.
  8. Continue to distribute housing lots.
  9. Establish a playing field at Langley Park.

Mrs. Shevern John: {The following information was taken from her speeches delivered on NDP platforms during the period of October 2020.} This candidate is a first timer in the political arena she has highlighted that her constituency is one of the poorest in the country and wishes to address the problem of unemployment and neglect. Her development plans are as follows:

  1. Introduce constituency development fund
  2. Provide better health care at every village in North Windward.
  3. Build a Health Centre in Dickson.
  4. Build bypass roads throughout the constituency.
  5. Upgrade and repair road network throughout the constituency
  6. Repair Overland road so that school children can have better access.
  7. Create market for local farmer’s produce.

Election Day is Thursday, November 5, 2020.

Nomination Day is slated for October 20, 2020, and both candidates are expected to be nominated to contest the November 5 poll.
