Dr. Ralph Gonsalves to be sworn-in as PM on Nov 7

Kingstown, St. Vincent (ONE NEWS SVG) – Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves will be sworn-in as Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Government House.

It will be his 5th and final time being sworn-in as Prime Minister, he said.

“Sometime early next week, I will make appropriate arrangements for the swearing-in of the new Cabinet,” Dr. Gonsalves said at the ULP’s victory rally at Arnos Vale.

Orando Brewster, who won Central Leeward, Curtis King, who won West St. George, and Carlos James who won North Leeward will be in the new Cabinet, Dr. Gonsalves said.

Dr. Gonsalves said that sometime next year, as early as practicable, the ULP will hold elections for a new Deputy Political Leader of the party.

He said that in the meantime, Montgomery Daniel, who has indicated he will not be contesting another general election, will be sworn in as Deputy Prime Minister on Saturday, November 7, 2020.

The Deputy Prime Minister has often been the Deputy Political Leader of the party.

On Thursday, November 5, 2020, the Ralph Gonsalves-led Unity Labour Party won the general elections to win a historic fifth consecutive term.
