Several Government offices housed in the Methodist Building on Granby Street, Kingstown had to be evacuated today (November 9), due to an electrical issue.
Witnesses told One News SVG that at around after 1 p.m., a loud explosion was heard and then fire sparked.
There is currently no electricity at the building.
A technical team from the St. Vincent Electricity Services Ltd – VINLEC is currently on the scene.
The Methodist Building houses several offices including the Agency for Public Information – API, the Ministry of Sports and Culture, the Attorney General’s Office, and Lands and Surveys Department.
Baptiste and Co Law Firm is also housed at the building.
Up to press time, some workers were outside.
