Van drivers urged to comply with Covid-19 sanitization

By Admin. Updated 3:25 p.m., Friday, May 28, 2022, Atlantic Standard Time (GMT-4).

The COVID-19 sanitization units in Ministry of Transport and Works is reminding minibus drivers to comply with the Covid-19 sanitization protocols.

The call came from Mr. Romano Richards, Supervisor of the sanitization stations.

Mr. Richards’ call comes amid the recent uptick in Covid 19 cases in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

According to Mr. Romano Richards, about 50% of van drivers have been coming to sanitize at least twice per day.

Mr. Richards said, however, “we are encouraging more of them to do so more frequently as we know the importance of disinfecting frequently touched areas to prevent Covid 19 transmission.”

Van drivers are reminded that the government’s sanitization program is available daily from 7:30 am to 4:30 p.m. at both the Leeward Bus Terminal and Little Tokyo.
