Police make multiple arrests for theft, burglary, wounding and illegal firearms

June 13, 2022, Kingstown On June 10, 2022, Police arrested and charged Orlando Browne, 39 years old Farmer of Redemption Sharpes with the offences of Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm and Possession of Unlicensed Ammunition.

According to the investigation, the Accused allegedly had in his possession, one (1)Intratec 9mm Luger Semi-automatic pistol serial number unknown and nineteen (19) rounds of9mm Ammunition without a license issued under the Firearms Act at Redemption Sharpes at about 6:45 pm on June 7, 2022.

The Accused appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate Court on Friday, June 10, 2022, to answer the charges and pleaded not guilty. He was granted bail in the sum of $10,000.00 with one surety and ordered to report to Central Police Station every Monday and Wednesday between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm. The matter was adjourned to Monday, June 20, 2022, and transferred to the Serious Offences Court.

On June 11, 2022, police arrested and charged Kevin King, 32years old Labourer of Byera with Wounding.

Investigations revealed that the Accused unlawfully and maliciously wounded a 40-year-old Chauffeur of the same address by striking him on his forehead with a bottle. The incident occurred at Byera at about 1:00 pm on May 29, 2022.

King is expected to appear before the Serious Offences Court to answer the charge.

On June 12, 2022, police arrested and charged Cory Daniel, 17years old Mechanic of Peruvian Vale with the offense of Theft.

Investigations revealed that the Accused allegedly stole one black and white Bull Cattle valued at $4,500.00ECC, the property of a 61-year-old Farmer of Calder – stolen at Spring Estate between 2:00 pm on May 18, 2022 and 10:30 am on May 19, 2022.

Daniel appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate Court on Monday, June 13, 2022, to answer the charge and pleaded not guilty. He was granted bail in the sum of $5000.00 with one surety and ordered to report every Friday at the Biabou Police Station between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm. The matter was adjourned to June 17, 2022 and transferred to the Biabou Magistrate Court.

On June 12, 2022, police arrested and charged Jeron Cockburn, 21years old Labourer of Lowmans Windward with the offence of Burglary.

According to the investigations, the Accused allegedly enteredthe dwelling house of a 36 years old Auxiliary Police Officer of Lowmans Windward as a trespasser and stole four (4) bottles of sea moss valued at $40.00ECC, one (1) dark blue Samsung Galaxy cellular phone valued at $990.00ECC and one (1) dark blue long Jean Pants valued at $150.00ECC, total value 1180.00ECC, the property of the Complainnant – stolen at Lowmans Windward between 6:30 a.m and 5:30 pm on June 6, 2022.

Cockburn appeared before the Serious Offences Court on Monday, June 13, 2022, to answer the charge and pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to six (6) months imprisonment for the offence. He will spend an additional five (5) months in prison after a suspended sentence that was made on 21/01/22 at the Biabou Magistrate Court was activated.
